Escape to nature in style with a stay at Grotto Getaway near Tobermory. This luxury glamping retreat offers cozy tents, private hot tubs, and easy access to Bruce Peninsula’s most iconic sites, including the Grotto.
If you’ve ever wanted to experience nature without sacrificing your morning espresso or a good night’s sleep, Grotto Getaway might just be your dream setup. This is peak glamping: think luxury canvas tents, comfy beds, twinkle lights, and everything set up and ready for you when you arrive.
I stayed in one of their beautiful glamping tents and instantly understood the hype. The space is cozy but elevated : real beds with proper linens (no sleeping bags here), a private fire pit, and access to spotless washrooms. You’re surrounded by trees, but the vibe is more boutique escape than rustic camping.
Located close to Miller Lake and just a short drive from Tobermory’s iconic Grotto, this stay is the perfect home base if you want to explore Bruce Peninsula without giving up creature comforts. It’s relaxing, quiet, and incredibly easy, just unpack, unwind, and let the weekend begin.

Why try glamping at The Grotto Getaway?
What Is Grotto Getaway?
Grotto Getaway is a luxury glamping experience located near Miller Lake, just 25 minutes south of Tobermory in Ontario’s Bruce Peninsula. It’s designed for people (like me!) who love the idea of being surrounded by nature, but aren’t quite ready to rough it with a sleeping bag on the ground.
This glamping retreat offers beautifully styled canvas tents that are already set up and waiting for you when you arrive. Each tent includes a real bed with hotel-quality linens, warm lighting, and thoughtful little touches that make it feel more like a boutique escape than a campground. It’s off-grid but still has everything you need for a comfortable stay.
There are clean and modern shared washroom facilities, private fire pits at each site, and optional add-ons like firewood bundles, breakfast kits, and s’mores kits to make your stay even easier. And because it’s nestled among trees with just a few tents on the property, it feels quiet and peaceful without being completely remote.

Inside the Tent
The moment you unzip the tent flap at Grotto Getaway, you realize this is not your average camping setup. This is peak glamping. Inside, you’ll find a real bed (yes, an actual bed!) complete with a cozy duvet, soft linens, and pillows that are way too nice for the woods. There’s a rustic-chic vibe throughout, with warm lighting, small wooden side tables, lanterns, and thoughtful touches that make the space feel more like a boutique cabin than a tent.
There’s also plenty of room to move around. Each tent has space for your gear, a little seating area, and some even include rugs or woven mats to make it feel extra homey. The temperature inside is surprisingly comfortable, especially with the natural shade and airflow from the forest surroundings.
You’re still immersed in nature – waking up to birdsong and falling asleep to the sound of wind through the trees – but with just enough comfort to feel pampered. And after a day of hiking or swimming, crawling into a real bed under twinkly lights? It’s a yes from me.

Outside the Tent
Step outside your luxury tent and you’re greeted with all the charm of camping. Each tent has its own private outdoor setup with chairs for lounging, a fire pit for late-night s’mores, and plenty of space to breathe in the fresh Tobermory air. It’s peaceful, quiet, and the perfect place to slow down between adventures.
Just a short walk from your tent, you’ll find the shared washroom facilities. They’re clean, modern, and way more comfortable than anything you’d expect from a campground. Hot showers, flush toilets, and sinks make it easy to stay fresh after a day of hiking or beach-hopping. Everything’s well-maintained and easy to access, even after dark.
This is the kind of place where you can sip your morning coffee outdoors in your pajamas, listen to the birds, and feel like you’ve actually escaped the everyday. It’s glamping done right : cozy, stylish, and connected to nature, but with all the comforts that make your stay feel elevated.

Found cheap flights to Calgary, booked a long weekend, and ended up at the stay with the most incredible view I’ve ever had, and I’ve stayed in a lot of places, so that actually means something. 🏔️
I stayed in one of the new Skyglass at Skyridge Glamping in Kananaskis.
Floor-to-ceiling windows all around, mountains reflecting right outside, coffee on the deck in the morning with that view. I genuinely didn’t want to move.
If you’re in Ontario and you’ve been sleeping on cheap flights to Calgary, this is your sign. Kananaskis is only about an hour from the airport and it is so worth the trip.
Save this for your next long weekend. 🍂
Have you ever done a spontaneous long weekend trip out west? Drop a 🏔️ below if Kananaskis is on your list 👇

We all speed through the 401 trying to get somewhere… meanwhile we’re missing all of this 👀
All of these stops are 20 minutes or less from the highway (between Toronto & Kingston), so you don’t have to go completely out of your way to make your road trip feel a lot more fun ✨
Some of these are quick, easy stops you can do in under an hour…
others are more “okay wait, let’s turn this into a full day trip” kind of spots
…but every single one is 100% worth getting off the 401 for 🚗
From alpaca farms and spa days to lookouts and cute small towns, this stretch is way less boring than people think
Save this for your next road trip (future you will be very happy you did)
And tell me… do you want me to do more of these for other sections of the 401? 👀👇

I’ve lived in Kingston for 10 years and I still find new reasons to love it every season, but spring might be my favourite time to be here.
The limestone buildings, the waterfront, the little cafés that finally open their windows again. It just hits different. ☀️
If you’re thinking about visiting this spring or summer, watch this reel. I planned the whole day for you so you don’t have to figure it out yourself.
Save it for your next trip.
